Minutes of the last AGM:

These were made available to all present, & there were no matters arising.

Captain’s Report:

The captain duly thanked everyone for their efforts this season in which Dodgers won 12, drew 0 & lost 16 games. This would have been better but for 7 losses in our final 8 games, the final win being over Superstars! There were also a few cancellations for various reasons. Dodgers lost Rob Cooper to America, however we had the welcome return of Neil Priest from injury and he and Phil McBarron scored the bulk of the runs, and NJ had an impressive all round season. Rob Fox was the leading wicket taker with 22 and Jason De Bono took 7 wickets in his 1 appearance for us at Buckhurst Hill.

Finance Report:

The Treasurer John Cooper gave his report, & as at 1 Dec the Dodgers account was in credit by £982. The Dodgers membership fee will remain £15 each for 2012 & there were 23 paid up members in 2011. £345 in membership fees & £222 indoor net fees were collected during the year. There will also be a designated match fee collector for each separate game next season. Full accounts will be made available by the Treasurer for auditing by Franca, & they will be shown to the Committee at its next meeting in 2012.

Election of Officers for 2012:

The following were elected unopposed standing for the posts as indicated:

John Carr (Captain)
Neil Priest (Vice-Captain)
Phil McBarron (Chairman)
John Cooper (Treasurer)
Robert Fox (Secretary)
Michael Dollin (Fixtures Secretary)
Sacha Hatteea (Committee Member without Portfolio)

Thanks were recorded for all the Committee’s efforts during the past year and particularly to Simon Cousins who is standing down as he is off to Australia in 2012.

Subscription, Match & Net Fees for 2012:

These are as follows:

• Dodgers Membership = £15.00
• Evening Match (No Tea) = £5.00
• Afternoon Match (No Tea) = £5.50
• Afternoon Match (With Tea) = £6.00
• Evening Nets @ The Oval = £5.00.

Away fees will probably be the same as those of Home games.

Selection Policy for 2012:

It was agreed that nobody should have to miss 2 games in a row that they are available for, except for the few “higher profile” games where the opposition are particularly strong. This will be proportioned to general availability, to try & prevent any last minute withdrawals. A reserves list will also be in operation. Nobody will open both the batting & the bowling to give everyone a fair game. The “Teamer” website may also be used for ease of organisation next season.

Recruitment & Website:

The Dodgers website www.dodgerscricket.org is maintained by John Cooper, who was thanked for his efforts, & the domain name has been paid for until 2012. John Hilary successfully posted many match reports during the season. The website has the relevant details for anyone interested in joining up. Word of mouth recruitment is also helpful, as only about 5% of new recruits came via the posters put up around the various Govt. buildings. Any match reports & blogs will be very welcome next season.

2012 Fixtures:

Mike Dollin has again taken on the role of Fixture Secretary again & thanks were given to him for all his sterling work in organising the fixtures. The ones for the coming year are likely to be similar to those of last year, but there is a possibility of playing more games at other grounds (e.g. Berrylands or Barnes Common), given that the price to book Chiswick has gone up a lot. Also, we are minded to avoid the Olympic Games period at the beginning of August for 2 weeks when arranging fixtures.

Equipment Purchases:

Several white, orange & pink balls for the 20/20 evening games will be purchased by Kim Matthews and Zaheer has agreed to provide some cheap cricket gear if possible via his contacts in Pakistan [DONE].

Closed Season Activities & Other Social Events:

Indoor nets have been booked at The Oval for various dates next March & April 2012. John Cooper will notify the membership in due course [DONE].

2012 Player Awards:

Player of the Season: NJ Shimoga
Best Batsman: Neil Priest
Best Bowler: John Hilary
Best Fielder: Matthew Taylor
Most Improved Player: Guy Westhead OBE

Champagne Moment: Matt Taylor’s stunning football style juggling catch.
Any Other Business:

The Ken Block Trophy played against Superstars, was narrowly won by them (2-1). However, it’s only been lent for the year! The Superstars are touring to the New Forest area in Hampshire over the early May Bank Holiday weekend in 2012. Anyone interested in going should contact Barry Gigg or Paul Gaught and they had a successful tour to Bedford in 2011.

Date of next Committee Meeting:

TBC

ROBERT FOX
Secretary
