2pm
Scorching sunshine
No retirement, normal rules for Wides/No balls.
Dodgers 282 for 6 (Dollin 119* of 118, Shimoga 56 of 31, Mayana 32* of 24) beat Green Sox 170 for 5 (Shimoga (NJ) 4 for 29) by 112 runs
MoM: Dollin 9 and Shimoga (NJ) 1
Match report: JH
A thumping victory for Dodgers on a fabulously hot summer's day in SE21, thoroughly eclipsing anything achieved by Andy Murray over in SW18. Pride of place goes to Mr Michael Dollin (pictured), who carried his bat through three sweltering hours to register his maiden Dodgers century and the highest ever individual Dodgers score. Mike was ably supported by some brutal hitting from Shimoga (NJ) and Sardar, and we closed just 18 runs short of the 300 mark.
The amiable Green Sox, who had fielded throughout the hottest part of the day, looked suitably overawed by this mammoth total. Yet both openers registered good 50s, Purcey falling just four runs short of his own century when he was trapped lbw on the back foot. In the end, though, Dodgers repaired to the Crown and Greyhound as convincing winners, and Mike's achievement was toasted to universal acclaim.
