Regents Park
T20
6pm
Overcast, hot
25 retirement, 2 runs for Wides/No balls and no extra ball.
Dodgers 170 for 6 (Dollin 26* off 16, Priest 28* off 23 and Shimoga (NJ) 25* off 9) beat Green Sox 37 all out (Cousins 6 for 5 with a hat-trick and McBarron 2 for 7) by 133 runs.
MoM votes: Cousins 11 and Shimoga (NJ) 1
The Master Returns. As if he had never been away, Dodgers legend Simon Cousins - on home leave from down under - slotted straight back into the bowling attack and took no fewer than six Green Sox wickets, including a hat-trick, en route to the second best figures in the club's history. A strong batting line-up had already secured us a massive total of 170, including two magnificent sixes from NJ, but the Regents Park boundaries were short and the outfield bone dry so we were taking nothing for granted. Yet it took only a few overs of carnage and we were back drinking Simon's health at the Spread Eagle, pledging to follow in his illustrious footsteps until he should return again. A memorable evening, and a pleasure to be part of it.
