Dodgers 193 for 4 (McBarron 66 of 68, Taylor 51 of 89 and Lindsey 27 of 29) beat Superstars 191 for 6 (McBarron 2 for 15 and Kashyap 2 for 25) by 6 wickets with 4 overs remaining.
MoM votes: McBarron 10 and Taylor 1
Match report: JH
Another famous win for Dodgers over the old foe, on a glorious summer's afternoon in Surrey. The game started with a burst of high excitement, as Nitesh clipped the off stump of dangerous Superstars opener Gaught with his second ball. Walker, also opening for the Rats, steadied the ship and went on to make a well crafted century, with backing from Meyler, Spencer and Gigg. Yet the run rate was kept low as all Dodgers bowlers stuck to their task, ably supported by some good fielding on a ground with short boundaries and even shorter grass. A total of 191 looked ominously low for a 40-over match against a Dodgers team bristling with hard hitters.
Our innings started smartly, although Dollin was unable to repeat his Herculean feats of the previous weekend and succumbed for just 5. Step forward McBarron and Taylor, who proceeded to put on 106 between them for the second wicket, both reaching well deserved half centuries. Before he could translate his into something even greater, Phil was bowled by a fizzer from VJ, who then took out Chris Ford's off stump with his next ball. Palmer hit a quick 9 before making way for stand-in keeper Lindsey, who gave an exquisite display of off drives to race to his 27 not out. We were always well up with the run rate, and coasted home with overs to spare.
