Superstars made 128 batting first which looked a tough but potentially gettable target. Shout out to Milind for a lovely spell in which he went for very few (inc last over) and was unlucky not to take more wickets. Also, welcome to Noman, a new recruit from the LAA and his leg spin which was a welcome change.
Our run chase initially started well with NJ knocking off a very swift 25 retired including a lovely 6 over deep midwicket. Sadly it proved difficult to maintain that momentum in the middle order with wickets falling at fairly regular intervals. A nod to Garry for his own 25 retired playing as a turncoat for us much to the chagrin of Superstars. We won't mention the (contentious) run out of JT. Was his bat down? Who knows...
Eventually the run rate of 7.5 runs per over proved too much for us and Superstars got over the line in relative comfort.
So the Ken Block trophy now stands at 1-1, with the deciding afternoon match on 31 August. Thanks to all those that played as it was a lovely evening to play down at Chiswick.
