The Dodgers trekked up to the far northern wastes of Regent's Park for our annual showdown with Ad Hoc, where stand-in Captain Mike D lost the toss and was invited to take the field. Suffice it to say that the opposition batsmen swung at the ball and regularly top-edged it to the boundary, racing to a total of 150 off their 20 overs. We, by contrast, found the boundary more elusive, notching up instead too many dot balls in the early stages of the innings. Excellent wicket-keeping by Fran and a good knock of 32* from Komal were not enough to save us, but even still we only fell 18 short.
