An all-round team performance saw Dodgers triumph over Kensington Wanderers on a sunny evening in Chiswick, under the able captaincy of Jatinder, who won the toss and elected to bat first.
Dodgers started tentatively but were soon in the swing of things, with Aron (guesting from Superstars) the first to retire with a spirited 28 off 12, including a glorious straight six. Simon, Niket, Jatinder and Dave H all scored powerfully, Niket contributing the shot of the evening with a spectacular six over the extra cover boundary. The innings continued apace right to the end, with debutant Satya and Charlie taking us through to a commendable total of 171 for the loss of just 3 wickets. It was, however, a lightning-fast outfield, so there was every possibility of this not being enough.
Close bowling by all seven Dodgers bowlers, skilfully rotated by Captain Jatinder, ensured that we were always on top throughout the Wanderers innings. Gary's first-ball dismissal of the dangerous Diago was a particular bonus, as he has often scored heavily against us, but we still needed to be vigilant to the end as both the two retiring Wanderers batters returned to score freely into the last over. In the end we emerged victorious by 12 runs, and the Dodgers winning streak continues.
Man of the Match votes: Aron 4, Gary 2, Jatinder 2, Charlie 1, Dave 1, Simon 1
